You don't for one minute that Bush/Cheney would have permitted the Iraqis any say at all in this, do you? The plan was to have the Coalition Provisional Authority, and subsequently our puppet government, pay Haliburton et al for the job.

And you still haven't answered how it was Cheney felt he could hold an auction for Iraq oil before we invaded and before al Qaeda gave him an excuse to invade.

Yes, our plan. US troops remove the butcher = US sets it up. And then certainly elections btw.

Don't think for a minute Clinton didn't have plans ready to go too. Of course - they were firing on our planes daily.

Not to derail Pete's ongoing firm spanking of all you erroneous liberals on Iraq, but the Obama admin is still sinking deeper into this mess daily:

And that gives us the right to sell off their oil and oil fields to the highest or best connected bidder? I never realized you were a Neocon at heart, Pete.

Unless you have something to back that up with it's a pretty damn silly thing to say.

It was far from daily and far from a one way street. Most of the time it was a question of Coalition aircraft provoking a response. It went like this: Coalition aircraft overflew sensitive Iraqi sites. Seeing this, the Iraqi SAM defenses in the area would "light up" the aircraft with their tracking radar but not launch. Coalition aircraft lock onto the Iraqi radar signal and take the site out.

I have a hard time with this. We are enforcing a no fly zone on a reneging dictator who still dares to radar lock on -and fire upon - US and British warplanes and we don't have plans for a real assault? Even I don't think Clinton was THAT bad

"WASHINGTON - U.S. fighter jets fired missiles and laser-guided bombs on a defense site in southern Iraq early today after it fired six to eight missiles at a British aircraft, the Pentagon said.

.......

U.S. warplanes exchanged missile fire with Iraqi air defenses Monday when the planes were fired upon by Iraqi surface-to-air missiles in the northern no-fly zone.

.......

On Monday an Iraqi air-defense installation fired at least three surface-to-air missiles at U.S. planes in the northern zone, and yesterday, Iraqi Vice President Taha Yassin Ramadan said Iraqi planes were flying in the restricted zones.

This challenge of the no-fly zones appears to be part of a broader Iraqi effort to challenge all international restrictions.

........"

This is an interesting read:

"If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's weapons of mass destruction program."

Just more "Fast & Furious" style bullshit from the car thief/arsonist Issa.

By his own admission, his sole purpose has been to use his committee for a 2 year witch hunt leveled at President Obama, "one of the most corrupt presidents in modern times", personally. He has utterly failed.

Still feel this way today Finn... ?

Ps.. I thought we were supposed to connect the dots before an attack, not after.
