The number of women who hold similar opinions might surprise you. Women with low self esteem and who are raised in a particular sub-culture, in this case probably Christian fundamentalism, buy into the negative stereotypes promulgated by the "patriarchs".

Really, it all goes back to Eve. After all, wasn't it the woman who was tempted by the serpent and who then betrayed the man? Later on, Paul the Apostle wasn't any help either, really pretty misogynistic. Then there's the matter of Mary Magdalene being denigrated as a whore to minimize her influence in the early church.

Most of the women in my life seem to think that it's us men who shouldn't have any say.........

Yeh, I shoulda added the qualifier, 'in this day and age'.

One hundred years later and we have a discussion on the merits of suffrage? There's a circle jerk if I've ever heard of one.

Bob, these theistic troglodytes want to revisit child labor laws. In that light, rethinking women's suffrage and freedom from things like marital rape should come as no surprise.

Treating our women like crap would help the Muslims feel more at home here.

It's just more lighthearted Teabagger humor...I prefer a 'crapload in his pants' joke about Unca Ted in response. Seems to be a hot button with some.

Yeah, but it's not the classic teabagger humor. The classic teabagger humor always ends wit a punchline about someone getting killed or seriously injured.

Maybe so, but they're non-violent as well.
