That was my conclusion. Each did what they came to do. Obama sought to energize his base and Romney sought to not make any clear mistakes. I didn't like the format and some of the questions were dumb. Candy did an adequate job, but she did inject herself into the dabate. Obama had 9% more time than Romney by one calculation. It will be interesting to see the effect on the polls. Onward to Round 3.

Hillary did what she had toi do, that woman who told Issa's witchhunt that she had turned down the request for more protection works for State. No one said that she asked the WhiteHouse and was refused. She probably had to refuse the request because the Repubs had slashed the funds allocated and there was no money to provide extra support.

Those are the simple facts but that never stopped the gooper spin doctors in the past.

Obama edged Romney out with his debate performance. I have respect for him for that. But Romney still stomped him on the economy. Something like 65% Romney to 35% Obama for the question of who do you trust more on the economy in a couple of polls I've seen among undecideds. Also Crowley has walked back Libya comments and admitted that Romney was right. Libya on the front burner isn't what Obama needs right now, especially when we can put together video of him lying and deceiving for two weeks about it and then him making forceful statements during the debate about how offensive lying and deceiving about Libya are to him. He comes off looking like a psychopathic liar on the issue. Obama dodged the issue quite effectively in the debate, but it's already way bigger than that and Obama has added more contradiction to his already disasterous response to this incident.

Overall this won't in my opinion change the dynamics of Obama's decline in the polls nor the outcome of the election. Obama still hasn't laid out any comprehensive plan for the next four years and he hasn't successfully defended his record. Romney looks human and has now further solidified his competence on the economy.

Obama made those who already strongly support him happy last night, but Romney perpetuated his sweeping in of undecideds and in this election at this point in time that is what really matters.

Pray tell, which polls were these?
