Just look at the warm reception full of well wishes Mitch and Newt gave our first blah president.

Geez, John, wake up and smell the watermelon already!

Nah. Carter, Mondale and Dukakis were pretty blah, and we didn't like them much.

General Ham retires. Admiral Gaouette relieved of his duty. Looks like we may have a couple heroes that aren't dead..... yet

Some are forgetting the Libyans who were there fighting the attackers.

But with mortars and rocket propelled grenades all hard to defend against, sometimes bad things happen to good people.

We did, fool. Embassy and consular security is always the responsibility of the host government, not just for the US but for every country. There was Libyan security at the consulate but it was overwhelmed in the attack and around ten of them were killed.

Excerpts from Buck McKeon's letter to Obama yesterday-

"Your … directive would appear to involve potential actions by the U.S. military … There appears to be a discrepancy between your directive and the actions taken by the Department of Defense. As we are painfully aware, despite the fact that the military had resources in the area, the military did not deploy any assets to secure U.S. personnel in Benghazi during the hours the consulate and the annex were under attack … I find it implausible that the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the commander of U.S. Africa Command and the commander of U.S. European Command would have ignored a direct order from the commander in chief."

"...to whom you issued this first directive and how was this directive communicated to the military and other agencies — verbally or in writing?”

"Did the president instruct the military to move available assets into Libya”

"Were military commanders given authority to take any and all necessary measures to secure U.S. personnel, including specifically the authority to enter Libyan airspace.”

"describe any recommendations provided to you regarding available military support and any orders you gave to them"
