This along with a box of ~15 MFSL and other audiophile pressings, all in pristine condition came with the B&O 4002 when I bought it.......for $100. Supertramp, Steely Dan, Christopher Cross, Gordon Lightfoot, Ozark Mountain Daredevils, Carly Simon and a few others. The woman said her Dad used to buy Lps, record them onto RTR tape, then file them away. But, that he had sold off all but his very favorite records and the tapes & tape deck when he "....got sick.". Whatever that meant.

She also said another man had bought the rest of her fathers system, just the day before, but didn't want the turntable or the records. I didn't ask what the rest of the system was...........I didn't want to know what I had missed.

How do you like your 4002? I see you also have a Revox tangential. Cool stuff. Though I no longer have vinyl, I almost bought a Luxman TT a few weeks ago. I remember back in the day when Linns were the big thing. I always preferred the looks of the Thorens TD125.

Thanks! We have been lucky not to experience any damage or electrical outage. The high winds really scared us.

Oh, the 4002 is a great machine. I have gone through, replaced all of the belts and lubed it up. Now the cart is dead and I'm in search of a good one. It requires a MMC20 series cart and the least expensive one SoundSmith has is $250.

Some people don't like B&O, they say it's too "gimmicky" or don't like the styling or whatever. I think B&O 'tables were very well built, beautiful looking and great sounding machines.

I have a Beogram rx-2 gathering dust in the garage....I need to buy an MMC4 cart...is it worth it? Of course I cannot really test the table since I have no cart...it powers up and spins...the tangential arm does move to the platter but seems to drop rather preciptiously...

All I know is I like mine. But, I can't afford a new cart for it, right now. When I put the money together, I'll get it done.

I went to the local record store today to return a table I'd just repaired for the owner and there was a minty RX sitting on the counter. It had no cartridge. I could have taken it home for $20.00 but, with the "cheap" SMMC-4 going for $200.00, I just couldn't justify it.
