Anyone wanna take bets . .
that if the Republicans gain a majority in either house, the employers will suddenly let go of all of that cash they have been hoarding, and the GOP will take credit for the increase in employment. Never mind that the stimulus program put much of that money in the companies' pockets.
Regards,
D-Ray

Actually, I'd take that bet. Businesses are hoarding cash due to uncertainty about the economy. The GOP takeover of the House (I doubt they'll get the Senate) will not change any uncertainty about the economy.

I guess I've stayed ahead of you in cynicism; I don't trust the excuses they've given.

Of course, the GOP will take credit when the economy inevitably gets turned around (with or without their help). That much I'm certain of. It's the idea of business sitting on their cash until the GOP takes over the House that I'm skeptical about. They'll spend when they figure they'll make money from doing so (as it should be IMHO).

I tend to lean more towards what Finn is saying these days. But, then again, hoarding due to uncertainty in the economy can be tied in, if they believe a GOP house will mean they get to keep their Bush era tax cut.

Ah, so you finally agree with me! No, I won't take that bet because I don't believe a single one of the excuses they have been giving for not hiring. There is enough demand that they are working existing staff overtime, so all the excuses are the usual BS.
BTW, we are now a third world country, BMW is going to build cars in SC (Senator Demented's stomping grounds) because they can pay people $15 per hour, half of what their German workers get, the freetraders have finally achieved their goal.

If the employers release their funds, it will show that the uncertainty came from not knowing what the government is planning under the Dems.
And it's the Dems own fault. I don't think I've ever heard such business bashing in my lifetime. Class warfare rhetoric doesn't help anyone.

Well the teabaggers say they want to take us back, back to when? To the 50s, 60s and 70s when we still had a middle class? Or to the 80s, 90s and 00s when Saint Ronnie started the war on unions and the middle class? If you don't like class warfare just remember that the Republicans started it.

It's the nagging truth, not a skipping turntable.
When you cut the greediest people on the planet loose to do as they damn well please, what do you think is going to happen? Think their going to start showering the rest of us with gobs of cash? Please. This makes no sense.
I tend to think they're going to screw us out of every last penny they can get their hands on, and then beg, borrow or steal to get even more. All the while trying to make us feel guilty for getting in their way. This is why they want the regulators and unions out of the way, and why "the love of money" is evil (As your Bible tells you.).----Because greed is never satisfied, it keeps going until only the most ruthless among us have everything and we end up fighting over their table scraps.
I don't understand how you can see it any other way.
Dave
