Show me the "right-wing" equivalent of the cancel culture. It doesn't exist. The left has weaponized rhetoric such that certain opinions are just not welcome, and people who utter those opinions are demonized and in many cases, their livelihoods are impacted.

Similarly, show me the "right-wing" equivalent of folks parading outside the homes of SCOTUS judges attempting to intimidate or influence their decisions. Protest is great, go protest outside the Supreme Court building. And, of course, it seems to be just fine with Merrick Garland and the DOJ, because...

Show me the right-wing equivalent of the attorneys general of several blue states publicly stating that they will not enforce the law, and covering themselves by twisting the definition of "prosecutorial discretion" to cover their actions.

In Garland's case, he stated that authorities would "take all appropriate actions to further enhance the security of justices and the court." I guess Garland thinks that "appropriate action" is no action, particularly if that means brooming the protestors out of the neighborhood. "Prosecutorial discretion", I guess.

Speaking of SCOTUS show me the right-wing equivalent of a US Senator standing on the steps of the Supreme Court and threatening the Justices, as Schummer did. Or a President calling the Supreme Court "extreme and dangerous" in an international press conference.

Oh we could show you but you'd with your usual verbose way dispute, disagree, say we're wrong and you were right so why bother. You may get some sort of satisfaction or amusement out of it but hey it's your thing. I guess you find enjoyment where you can.

The right WANTS the left to be free to say whatever they want. It's not only entertaining, but it enables us to see where they are really coming from. It's one of those, "enough rope to hang themself" things.

But the left wants to shut up the right, because they really can't argue with those of us that know what we're talking about.

Correction, the Left mainly wants to stop the spread of disinformation (who won the 2020 election for the WH and why is this still being debated) and insurrections (why did the GOP Senate exonerate Trump).

If a dangerous moron like Trump does not know what he is talking about (Covid, global warming, election results to name a few) and this disinformation is causing harm to the country and its citizens, why shouldn't Twitter and FB shut him down? If restaurants can throw misbehaving patrons out, privately owned social media can ban users.

There are several threads on AK (are you a member?) where the wingnuts come in and spew nonsense (EV, Covid to name a couple) and these threads get locked down. Its a private forum and the management have made and police the rules. I am yet to hear a single wingnut invoke the First Amendment on AK or here on PC.

Book bans by conservative legislatures and school boards are the epitome of cancel culture. DeSantis' threats to DisneyWorld and the cruise lines for having corporate policies he disagreed with are another. And, of course, the "Don't Say Gay" bill. Liberals' cancel culture is mostly silly woke bullshit (e.g., gender pronouns), whereas GOP cancel culture uses the force of law and the state. Nope. It's not simply a left/right thing. That's the point. The uniparty is about keeping the uniparty in power. To the uniparty, it's survival is a higher priority than preserving the constitutional rights of the people it claims to represent.

That is why it hates people like Rand Paul, Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump. They don't toe the uniparty line. And let's be frank, here: Those three are not on the same side of the scale, but at least they are not really part of the uniparty.
