Bad News For Afghanistan
In addition to the recently disclosed trillions in mineral wealth it seems that we've discovered significant reserves of oil there too. This has all the hallmarks of a significant game changer.

True but we had spooks running all over that country when we were helping bin Laden et al get rid of the Sovs. The exploration and research that uncovered all the gold, lithium, etc. reserves there was Russian. It was probably they who at least began the oil exploration, maybe concluded it. We probably learned about the minerals and the oil at the same time - whenever that was - and now it's coming out.
