Gypsies? Holy Crap am I ignit---I didn't even know such a thing still existed.
Mom used to threaten to sell me to the gypsies when I acted up.
I thought that was just some kinda oldtimer shit.

There are quite a few Gypsies still in Europe. The largest concentration I ever saw was in southern Spain around Granada. They're widely known (rightly or wrongly) for begging and pick-pocketing. In German, the word for Gypsy, Zigeuner, is a widely used epithet even though I never saw many Gypsies there.

My poor mom has been worried about gypsies recently. Of course she has not actually seen one since 1935. They must have scared her pretty good as a kid to remember them now and harbor concern.
