Let me say it differently then. Here in these parts, people believe in God and say Merry Christmas to everyone they know or even run into while in a store just before and during Christmas. I think you get the point.

Muslim believe in God too, the same one you believe in. They even venerate Jesus, not as the son of God but as a prophet.

The teachers are in a position of authority over the students. They are hired by the government to teach kids who are required by the government to attend (unless they can afford a private school or they are home schooled) The government can't be in the business of proselytizing, because the First Amendment prohibits the establishment of a state religion. I think it would be appropriate on the last day of class before the break to ask if their families are having any celebrations over the break, and acknowledge each one that a child mentions.

Regards,

D-Ray

Yeah, that's the thing I think a lot of people don't get----Judaism, Christianity and Islam are the three main branches of the same religion--The Abrahamic Religions, or The God of Abraham.

So,---WTF?

The taking Merry Christmas out of school is a very hard thing for me to deal with. To be honest, everytime I get it on my mind I walk the floor for days. I cannot rest at all, I cannot find any piece of mind whatsoever.

For decade after decade after decade and decade decade decade time and time again teachers have been wishing their classes a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

If it is so wrong, then please explain to me just why it wasn't put a stop to so many decades ago? Whats changed over the last couple years? Why is it so wrong ' now '?

Last time I heard, there's A-lot less people that do not believe in Christmas compaired to those of us that do. I do believe the government works for ' We The People ', and the majority of We The People still believe in Christmas. I guess thats why I'm so very on the rag right now. Right is right fellas, and deep down inside I'm sure yall must understand how I feel about this.

"the last couple of years"? REALLY? You'd never heard of such a thing until January of 09? I call bovine excrement!!!

I can recall people whining about Christmas as long as I can remember, just as I can remember people whining, "Ooo, they're taking Christamas away!" as long as I can remember. So, the teachers don't say it in school anymore? Boo Hoo. Say it at home all you want, say it to your friends, say it to your family.........as a matter of fact;
MERRY CHRISTMAS, HILLBILLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!HAPPY EASTER!!!!!!!ENJOY GOOD FRIDAY!!!HAVE AN ECSTATIC MAUNDY THURSDAY!!!!!!

There. See, I said Merry Christmas and more. No stormtroopers kicking down my door, no black helicopters hovering over the house, no throngs of angry Atheists picketing out in the street..........................................

Arrrggghhh!!!!!!!!

Sorry for the tone, but I am just totally over this. Every year, pie eyed Conservatives crying, "They're trying to take Christmas away, they hate Santa Claus, boo hoo hoo...."

Let me ask you something; Have you EVER actually MET someone who said they are offended by Christmas?

Dave

We don't need proof Obama is a muslim, this just confirms it

Seriously of course we need to be civil with our neighbors, and now the world is our neighbor. If I had a muslim neighbor I would wish him a good Ramadan.

The big difference between us and Islam that I see is, the Koran is explicitly a civil rulebook as well. Interesting that it took Christian cultures to seperate religion and government.

We own America. If women abusing cultures want their honor killings they can do it elsewhere and that is our right.

Hillbilly the atheists can be very funny. There was an article I read a while back that spoke of a lady getting mad when someone said 'bless you' after a sneeze, and a guy who spent his free time scratching 'in God we trust' off of dollar bills.

Next Christmas season visit the school and wish everyone you see 'Merry Christmas'

Pete

Pete, I would assume you agree that the "Family Values" commentator who is arguing that we should not allow one more mosque to be built in the U.S. is a nutcase and has forgotten what America is supposed to be about - or at least you would disagree with him.

Regards,

D-Ray

Careful, Pete! They're gonna blackball you for saying stuff like that. Separation of Church and State? The Bible is not a law book? You're on very dangerous ground here!
