The thread about Lewis Black brought this to mind;
"First they came for the communists, and I did not speak out--
because I was not a communist;
Then they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out--
because I was not a socialist;
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out--
because I was not a trade unionist;
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out--
because I was not a Jew;
Then they came for me--
and there was no one left to speak out for me."
I came across several different versions of this quote, this one is from "Christian Ethics Today". The variances are usually in the order of events, and some omit "socialists" and/or add "catholics", but they are all basically the same. Except for the bullshit that idiot Beck spouted recently that was completely 180 out. Like everything else that pukes out of his deluded piehole.
So, anyways, what are your thoughts?
