Thanks for bringing it up Barney. The anti war movement complexion changed from mostly pissed off draft age people and those facing their own upcoming draft age to veterans and parents of KIA victims being a larger component. From '68 to '70 is the time period where we all involved in Washington D.C. noticed this. The illegal bombing of Laos and Cambodia really was an eye opener for any sitting on the fence.

My draft number was three, so I was well aware of what was going on! Never received the letter and didn't ask why!

There was a waiting list for the guard so I was going to enlist if it came to be.

I have three older brothers that were sweating it. I wasn't so much as 18 wasn't happening for me till '75. Knowing my convictions if it had kept on going I would probably be posting from British Columbia instead of California.
One of these days I do plan on seeing the Memorial in D.C. it will be cathartic.
