You know what, the blacks have pretty much played all of their cards.

As bad as slavery was, had it not been for slavery, they would still be in Africa...and might still be slaves.

Dry up, pull your head out of your ass, after all of 40 yrs of affarmative action...if anyone's keepin' ya down...it's yer own dumb ass.

Grow up,

Chas

What's keeping many people of color down is ignorance. Ignorance of how to take advantage of the opportunities that are out there. It is up to you, me, the black leaders and most importantly the parents of the children to make them aware.

As far as that water under the bridge stuff goes, wasn't it the tribal leaders who sold the slaves to the Europeans?

i've been calling mickey d's "blackdonald's" for quite a while now. no offense to the african-american community intended. but it's quite obvious that mcdonald's is catering to the black community. and helping to keep them overweight and poor.

Not sure if my response was taken correctly. What I was trying to say is why divide us. We are all humans and should be treated the same way.

I agree very strongly with this.

All other cultures are asked to assimilate into one unifying American culture.

I agree but America was founded on the melting pot method. I strongly feel that if folks come here from abroad looking for the american dream they should at least speak the damn language ! But that's a rant for another day.

This is tricky.

We do not have an official national language hence I cannot fault anyone for not adapting English.
That being said, I strongly support a bill that would make English the national language. It would help unify our country and make things way more convenient for me.

i can't support this with fact, but from what i understand, one of the conditions for an immigrant to become an american citizen is to learn to speak English. correct me if i'm wrong here.

In February 07 A bill was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives that would have designated English as the country's official language and required immigrants to learn English before becoming naturalized citizens.
As it stands now this is not a requirement.

As I said, I strongly supported that bill.
(it went nowhere, Bush did not support it)
