You me, and most everyone else. The 1% are the CEO's and super rich that hold 90% of this country's money.

I have to say that I've talked to a LOT of people about OWS, and although some don't want to get involved, most I have talked to say they are glad it's happening many have said they hope it gets so big that our lives change for the better..

I talked a lot to people about the Tea party too, and most the people thought it was cool people were doing something, but they weren't happy that it was more of the same.
Here's why that headline is overstated:

[quote]
To be fair, the Tea Party was, in its early days, far more popular than it is now. A December 2009 NBC/WSJ poll found 41% of Americans felt positively about the nascent Tea Party movement, while 23% held a negative opinion of it.

The left wing press and the socialist contingent were effective in demonizing the Tea Party. I have not seen the MSM and associated pundits cast such aspersions to the OWS. In fact, I'd say the coverage hasn't been that great even among the noted left wing press like MSNBC.

No, they are all about the old utopian desires of the left that has existed since the Parisian Coffee bars became popular. Don't you know that if it wasn't for those evil one percenters, we could all get along in tranquility and bountiful abundance.

They always had some speakers, either radio/TV personalities or politicians, and there were always "facilities" (port-o-potties). There were also plenty of cops, but no riot gear at all, and all the ones I met were very polite and respectful. I think any time Americans get up and make an effort to be heard, it's fantastic. I don't have to agree with someone to applaud them for taking advantage of our freedoms and standing up for what they believe in. The people that drive me insane are the ones that just sit on the couch and wait for the government to rescue them.
+1!

Easily your finest post, Sir.

You still don't get it.

Nobody, not even the Tea Partiers (I suspect.), want 1% of the population sucking up 90% of the nations wealth. Nobody wants to be controlled by a handful of Plutocrats anymore than they want to be controlled by the government.

And, most of all, we are tired of being blamed for all of the ill fortune these bozos in government and on Wall Street have foisted upon us.

People expect our leaders in both business and government to be honest with us. We expect them to live up to a high standard. And when they do things like offer people loans knowing those folks have no chance in hell of repaying, then turn around and say, "Well, you were a dumbass for taking it."----Yes, we get mad. Especially after they dupe our idiot politicians into bailing THEM out, with our money while they lay us off and foreclose on our homes.

How anyone cannot see that the other half of the corruption in this country lies in the private sector is totally astonishing to me. Politicians are bought? Damn right they are.

Who is it that buys them?

It sure aint me. I'm just a dumbass grease monkey, trading my skills for a paycheck and trying to keep the lights on.

When they come around to evict you, after your job has been outsourced and you've gotten behind---It's a bank (Private Sector) that files the claim and the Sheriff (Public Sector) that tosses you out.

See what I'm sayin'? This is why I think the 99%ers have more of a lock on the real problem than the Tea Party folks did. It's not just the government. It's not just "Wall Street"---It's the collusion between the two.

Dave

Then why do they support their political agenda?

Exactly. The tea bag movement was professionally set up by Fox and the GOP.

The main stream media does not take a political stance, they simply report what happens. Big difference hence no organization.
