I've eaten feral pig (lotta those out here). Lord only knows what they eat. The meat tastes completely different from the farm-raised version and much better.

Hmmmmm.........
I know a local hog farmer. Maybe I should ask if he wants them?

I have a garage. It's full of bicycles, wood working equipment, big tool boxes and................stereo gear.

Black Forest ham is just a curing method, Rob. The pigs are just regular pigs and, as far as I know, their diet is probably just a regular diet. Maybe our resident Schwartzwalder will enlighten us and correct me if I'm wrong.
Smithfield ham is my favorite type of domestic ham. It's a curing process too but it's also defined by the pigs' diet of peanuts. As I recall, the pigs are set out to browse in peanut field, after a harvest where they find the peanuts the harvest missed.

Mmmmmm... Fried Smithfield ham, grits, red-eye gravy, fried eggs, biscuits, coffee...
Excuse me, I've got to go get something to eat!
