I'll bide the time with Robert Randolph and the Family Band Monday night and Doyle Bramhall on April 15.
The summer concert schedule around here is coming out. Some good stuff - Elvis Costello (playing Imperial Bedroom), Lucinda Williams, Spoon, My Morning Jacket, Gary Clark, Jr., among a bunch of others. It'll likely be a game-time, weather-dependent decision on all of them (they're outdoor venues).

We saw Gary Clark in L.A. He put on a one man show and had the stuff to pull it off.

Alan Havannus: Christmas Symphony

very sweet, romantic music

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xffMZy5d6s

BTW, here's a quote from the composer, dates to 1971:

Quote:
We are in a very dangerous period. We are in danger of destroying ourselves, and I have a great fear about this ... The older generation is ruling ruthlessly. I feel that this is a terrible threat to our civilization. It's the greed of huge companies and huge organizations which control life in a kind of a brutal way ... It's gotten worse and worse, somehow, because physical science has given us more and more terrible deadly weapons, and the human spirit has been destroyed in so many cases, so what's the use of having the most powerful country in the world if we have killed the soul. It's of no use.

There's a story attached to this. I heard part of this played once on a SLC AM rock station ca 1971 and have been trying to find it since, not knowing it's actually a famous Aussie rock anthem.

One of life's little delights is solving old mysteries like this....
