I agree with the first part of what you say, but the second is much more complex.

Not complex for me, from a political view or from a morality/spiritual standpoint.
Political view- life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. The kid has the right not to be killed, by the parents or anyone else.
Moral/spiritual view- Thou shalt not kill. Also not supposed to pass judgement on others. No man gets to make the decision that a child's life would be tragic and abusive and therefore it's cheaper and more humane to just kill them young. Suffering is not new, and it's not going away. The government isn't going to stop it any more than praying is.

Until the politicians cook up some excuse to go to war. Then killing becomes patriotic?
And, who doesn't "pass judgement"? Anyone? Really, think about it.

I think it is funny some will argue that it's a crime against nature to not allow a child to be born. But then another story once a child is born and the family needs some help! "Don't want their tax dollars to help people who can't afford kids in the first place."
If one truly believes in a Supreme Being and a afterlife then would not there be an allowance made for an abortion? My thoughts are maybe they have a hidden fear there is not and this is the only shot ones gets!

If folks truly practiced what they preached then they'd know that judgement is not for them but for the creator.

Not your fault my sarcasm went over your head, Dave. Sometimes hard to detect in print, especially as dry as mine is at times.
