We are typically saddened when we hear about pretty much anybody battling cancer. And then we have Mr. And Mrs. DeSantis...playing fucking politics with it.

Beaming with pride, Ron says of the Christ-like sacrifice he made picking up his own kids from school: “In sickness and in health, that’s what you sign up for."

“He was there to go pick up my kids when I couldn’t,” Casey says as she holds back tears. “And he did it with humility, and he did it with love, and I’ll tell you what. You can’t ask for a better husband than that.”

First: “My” kids??? This is precisely why we, as a society, need to eradicate the running dad joke about dads “babysitting” their own fucking kids. DeSantis should frankly be embarrassed that he apparently plays such an unequal role in child-rearing responsibilities that Casey is convinced their kids are basically her responsibility.

Now, half of Ronald Reagan's kids turned out fine, Ron and Patti are examples of how some of us can have utterly fucked up parents with fucked up gene pools, and still turn out OK. And then there is Michael Reagan...asshole supreme, pissing and moaning about his older brother and sister. So...he came from a different gene pool but had the same childhood environment, for whatever that's worth.
