If you buy that Jesus lived "as a man," then he was guilty and sinned.

You cannot have it both ways.

the authors of the old testament did a lot in parapl or analogy style writtng that particular verse usualy translates if you have done it in your mind you might as well have done it since it will grow as a seed and blossom into a act,at least with some that follow up on their fantasys.

I'm not a Bible scholar.

I did read it through cover to cover once to see what all the hoopla was about.

I consider it a work of fiction and as such, I feel some of the stories are somewhat interesting, but I've read better.

I went to Lutheran school for 7th and 8th grade.

There was a list of over a hundred bible verses we were made to memorize. But I'm fascinated by some of the verses I've learned of later, that were never mentioned, let alone put on the list.

Here's a couple of weird ones I just heard about:

Quote:
Ezekiel 20:25-26
King James Version (KJV)
25 Wherefore I gave them also statutes that were not good, and judgments whereby they should not live;

26 And I polluted them in their own gifts, in that they caused to pass through the fire all that openeth the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I am the Lord.
25 is cute. You can't depend on the 'statutes and judgments;' if God is mad at you, he'll give you bad ones, just to fuck you up.

26 is just double weird. The standard interp is "all that opened the womb" means first-borns, and 'passed through the fire' means sacrificed to Moloch. But there are other interpretations. Danged if I can figure it all out.

It's a good thing they never asked about this one on Examination Sunday....

26 reads like the demented gibberish 4-2-7 writes.

I had to endure Sunday School, Bible School, Bible Camp, Services every Sunday, any and all church related activities in between.......in fact I was once whipped with an extension cord for trying to play sick one Sunday morning. I sat next to mother in the pew with welts on my back, buttocks and legs. At one point she told me if I "....don't stop squirming, it'll be round two when we get home." I was 10 years old.

I have no use for organized religion. The glazed over look in a Biblethumpers eyes when they're high on Jesus gives me the creeps and fills me with the urge to slap them down.
