The official "trickle down" thread.

Ok, I know how giving tax cuts and bail outs to the ruling class helps all us little folk so here is a thread to pay homage to the wealthy for all their hard work for us. Just post all the wonderful things you have received as a result of the powerful receiving most favored status. What has trickled down to you today?

I often call it "trickle on" economics.

Back in the days when we were hurling astronauts aloft the capsule merely ejected any urine into space. From the viewport they saw these golden showers. When someone at Houston control asked what that was one wag answered "I believe it is the constellation Urinus."

We've been told there will be no bonuses, or "cost of living adjustment" this year.

That, and I've been sent to another line because the mechanic assigned to it, our plant wingnut republican party chairman, is LAZY and doesn't seem to know what he's doing. (I hate that guy. He talks trash about others all day long, and he's even worse than any of them are. But, they'll never fire him, 'cuz he's the one that goes around telling the rest of us that our employer doesn't "owe" us anything. Useless asskisser.)

So does the revolt start when he gets a bonus?

Regards,

You know, although I was second level management when I left Bell I have never had any desire to be management here. Most companies seem to operate on what I call the Mushroom Theory- keep your employees in the dark and feed them lots of horse manure.

Sure, when you accept a position at any company, they only owe you the salary agreed upon, but does it kill people to say 'Thank You' once in a while? This constant repetition of "They don't owe you" is designed to do what? Alienate all your employees? Unless you hire them simply to push a broom you make some investment in training, but go ahead with the right wing bullshit and that 'training' walks out the door. I suppose if you like shooting yorself in the foot it works, but damned if it makes any sense.

The people who worked for me back then gave me their best and in return I got them the biggest raises I could (and I was pretty good at doing that).

I got that last year. Hoping it won't be two in a row.

Up 'till about five years ago I was able to do that. Much tougher now. I can't remember the last time I was able to get someone a decent raise. Working on one now, but not too hopeful.
