Jay, since when do Republicans care about anyones pension? Or any other benefit for that matter. Those are the guys who think people shouldn't expect their employers to provide them with such things. And that anyone who complains about losing a pension or any other benefit is just a pansy ass whiner. (Except for themselves, of course. Because they always seem to think they are so much more deserving.)

Do you pay any attention at all to what goes on outside the bubble? No offense intended, but your posts are so bizarre and disconnected from reality at times.

Don't even try to go the "The GOP is lookin' out for the workin' man!" route, because that's the only thing farther from the truth than the Dems trying to claim it.

Not out to speak for or stick a thorn in TD's side but as I remember he told us already he himself could do better in the private sector (make more money) but knew he'd have no pension so chose to stick with the union gig. (please correct if I'm off base here TD)

History shows that the fix for a rust belt city going bust is a good Republican.

I would go, if for nothing else than to see where some of the best American music ever recorded was made.

Motown, baby!

Don't forget the MC5 - doing the John Lee Hooker song about Detroit riot in 1937?

Sad, 50 years ago the most affluent city in the USA. It will rise from the dead.

The MC5 were the house band at the once-famous Grande Ballroom. The condition of the Grande Ballroom today, versus how it was when the Who introduced Tommy to the USA from the Grande Ballroom's stage, seems analogous to the fall of the city.

Excellent "house band".

Sad, the Grande Ballroom. But there it is and it could still be restored.

Here is Winterland. Not so easy.

Out sourcing jobs starting in the 80's might have had something to do with the Motor City's loss of revenue. Seems I saw a movie about Flint years ago on the auto manufactures leaving town. I just surprised it has taken so long.
