I also just watched Trouble with the Curve. Not as good as El Torino, by a long shot, but Clint is still a far better actor than Timberlake will ever be.

Dude, that is one thing we can agree on - as long as he's not talking to a chair.

Regards,

D-Ray

I am currently watching the Great Performances adaptation of Evelyn Waugh's Brideshead Revisted,
which I caught a few episodes of back in 1981. However watching it in my advanced middle age (50) I think you can identify more with the main character Charles Ryder since he is remembering his youth in the 1920s from the vantage point the 1940s.

I love these period pieces.

One thing is certain college students have always drank in excess no matter when or where one attended.

And, most likely had wild meaningless sex too. Although, the "Good ol' Days" whacknuts would have us believe no one ever sinned prior to the 1960s.....................................:rolleye s:

believe it or not there was sex in the 1920s

the conventional wisdom is that the real sexual revolution in America occurred in the roaring 20s....it was just not talked about.

Of course in Victorian England the aristorcracy did not apply the strict mores of the Queen to themselves when it came to sexual freedom. They did weld that as a club to the lower classes however.

I've been searching for Catch-22, not on VOD or in the local video store. So, I found a DVD copy of it at Amazon. Should be here tomorrow or Tuesday. Can't wait, haven't seeen it in years.

From what I can see things were actually MUCH rougher not too long ago, but there was a sharply defined line between public and private, children and adult.
