Gym Jordan’s remarkably thin legislative track record

Coming soon to HBO.....

""New George Clooney Documentary To Shine Light On Charges Rep. Jim Jordan Knew About Abuse At Ohio State University""

""An upcoming documentary about abuse at Ohio State — directed by and starring George Clooney for HBO — may draw more attention to the scandal and prompt more questions about Jordan’s involvement.

Though Jordan has repeatedly denied knowing about the allegations against Dr. Richard Strauss, who allegedly abused at least 177 male students at the university between 1979 and 1996, former wrestlers have claimed that Jordan was present when players spoke about Strauss, who died by suicide in 2005.""

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—In the latest setback to Rep. Jim Jordan’s bid to be Speaker of the House, Rep. George Santos has declared the Ohio congressman’s identity “not worth stealing.”

Minutes after Jordan lost the first round of voting for Speaker, Santos took to the floor of the House and told his colleagues, “I would be embarrassed to use any credit card with Jim Jordan’s name on it.”

“Don’t get me wrong, I was no fan of Kevin McCarthy,” Santos went on. “But, when it came time to buy myself a new pair of Uggs, sure, I gave Kevin’s Amex a whirl.”

Jordan, Santos claimed, was “another story.”

“I would never in a million years steal Jim’s identity,” he said. “Pretending to be Jim Jordan, even for a minute, would leave me feeling unclean.”

According to an article on CNBC yesterday, there are a significant number of House Republicans who made it clear that they were casting a vote for Jordan, but that if he did not win on the first ballot they would not vote for him again.

If this is accurate, his attempts at becoming speaker are done. Problem is, there are enough Jordan loyalists to queer every vote. And of course, Jordan and his minions would be more than happy to have a long term government shut down next month...the destruction of the US government, as it has operated for almost 250 years, has always been their goal.

Facing this catastrophe there is one quick cure. Jeffries got 212 votes from the 212 House Democrats. He will get 212 votes in the next one, and in all the possible upcoming votes for Speaker. Would a catastrophic shut down convince 5 Republicans who have some integrity (are there 5 of these?) to make Jeffries the next House Speaker? One other cure, the Republicans who would vote for a more reasonable member of their conference (is there one of these?), go to the Democrats and convince enough of them to vote for their "reasonable" candidate...and to avoid a shut down, the Democrats agree to give that person the votes needed.

Some political utterly useless trivia.

Jim Jordan is now the undisputed leader in getting the least number of votes for Speaker of the House in a single ballot, just 199.

Jeffries now is the undisputed leader in getting the maximum number of votes for Speaker, 3700 over 17 ballots. He can thank McCarthy for his 15 attempts to grab the gavel earlier this year.

And as the GOP debacle for search for a Speaker continues, his vote number will keep mounting.

And by the way, the House is in recess as of this afternoon once again.

^^ We all know its coming, right?

The Repugnants will blame the Democrats for voting against Jordan.
212 Jeffries, 199 Jordan.

Or how about the Repugnants threatening to keep the House in recess until Jordan is elected Speaker? That is how MAGA works, firing blanks.
