Most Useful Household Invention/Innovation?

Was thinking about it while I was doing a little spring cleaning and remembering how things were when I was a boy. Off the top of my head I vote for:

The home computer - saves me tons of time by eliminating trips to the bank, keeping files in order, communication, collecting information, etc.

The zip lock plastic baggie - food storage revolution I also use in the garage to store and label nuts, bolts, parts, etc. We wash and reuse them.

The Swiffer duster - we have three cats; this thing saves me a ton of time and keeps the house from becoming overrun with fuzz.

I should have put domestic electrification first, it's life changing influence cannot be overstated.

Depends on where you live. I haven't used AC since I moved to Northern California and I have the heat turned off most days of the winter.

Luther Burbank (the rose guy) is supposed to have said that the climate here in Sonoma County was the best in the world and it is, or was until Climate Change kicked in.

The furnace followed by indoor plumbing.

Since I started taking beta blockers years ago the furnace has occupied a 'warm' place in my heart.
