Here is a reason for McCarthy putting a road block on BoBo's attempt at getting the House to vote on her Biden Impeachment resolution. This indeed was an Oops moment and no wonder they came down fast and hard on the Grandma BoBo of the GED fame.

McCarthy wanted to protect the 18 House Republicans who represent districts Joe Biden carried in 2020 from having to vote on impeaching him for, well, nothing really.

Here is some interesting political climate that the GOP is facing.

An Economist/YouGov Poll released this month showed why.

The survey found that by a healthy 59 percent to 41 percent margin, Americans preferred a member of Congress who “compromises to get things done” rather than one who “sticks to their principles, no matter what.” But whereas 81 percent of Democrats said they preferred compromisers, 58 percent of Republicans were in the “no matter what” crowd. If you are looking for the core driver of gridlock, this is it.

Makes one wonder why McCarthy even wanted the Speaker's gavel after the way the Republicans sabotaged Jim Boehner and Paul Ryan's terms in the House.

On a side note, when/why did "conservatives" determine they were the base/origin of everything? That their "values" were what the country was founded on. That their "values" are what this country needs to run on. That they need to be in control of everything.

Good news and great news.

Good news is that DeFascist has slipped to a distant second and no realistic hope for a comeback. No charisma and too extreme would be my guess.

Trump is running away with the primary but most Republicans are not bothered with his legal trials and tribulations. Now this is the great news. More Trump is legally challenged, Republicans will support him even more.

“We’re going to get killed” if the general election focuses on Trump’s legal woes, said Sean Van Anglen, a GOP consultant supportive of DeSantis who called Trump a liability for down-ballot candidates. “It’s going to be a field day for Biden and the Democratic Party.”

Authorities arrested three Florida men Thursday for illicitly profiting millions of dollars off of insider information about a special-purpose acquisition company’s planned merger with former President Donald Trump’s media company.

Federal prosecutors allege Bruce Garelick and brothers Gerald and Michael Shvartzman profited more than $22 million in 2021 by using non-material public information to trade shares of Digital World Acquisition Corp, which announced that fall it intended to acquire Trump Media, the former president’s company encompassing his social media site, Truth Social.

Garelick, who sat on DWAC’s board of directors until resigning last June, allegedly texted Michael Shvartzman he had “intelligence to share” on September 24, 2021, a few weeks before DWAC announced its merger plans with Trump Media.
