Ah, I get it now! It's so simple! The fact that Barry and the Demos aren't implementing a soci@list agenda is proof that they're soci@lists!

Those guys are sooooooooo sneaky!

If leftists are nothing else, they are pragmatists. So....

Would a soci@list have given the insurance industry such a blowjob as the ACA? Yes, if the goal is to kick the legs out from under employer - sponsored health coverage, PPACA is just the ticket.

Without even a public option? Again, pragmatic. There were insufficient votes among Democrats to pass a public option. So, PPACA kicks the can down the road by hastening the demise of employer - sponsored health coverage, and setting the table for a public option to become more politically viable in the future.

Would he have bailed out Wall Street, especially without tossing even a token offering in jail? Yes. Lotsa Dem campaign donors on Wall Street. That bail out so far has worked out pretty well for those donors, and it seems likely to me that today's bail out money will become tomorrow's campaign contributions.

Would a soci@list have rescued the auto industry or would he have nationalized or made it a joint private/public venture like so many other countries have done with critical industries? Pragmatism, my friend. The President of the US doesn't have the same lack of constitutional restraint such as a Hogo Chavez or a Fidel Castro. Besides, as observed in a recent Harvard Business Review, the GM deal is ultimately turning into a nice win for the hedge fund crowd. It was also a nice win for the UAW - at least in the short term. Fair amount of money comes from those sources as campaign contributions, so I think the Dems will do just fine with the GM deal.
