I now have a question. If the six Catholic Supreme Court justices effectively ban abortions (and it is getting there albeit state by state), what is the difference between them, the Taliban or the Ayatollahs? Isn't that effectively a religious decree?

Murder, stealing, rape; all the things forbidden by religious decree should be legal and acceptable in this country because we have a separation between state and religion (this is quite some logic, Rajoo).
You'd have to read quite a few books, or least watch some videos, to understand the differences between religions.

You must realize there's a big difference between social crimes and abortion. If you don't then say so.

Social crime is a Marxist concept.
On one side of a given state line, possession of marijuana is legal, cross that line it's illegal. It's a bunch of political bullshit.
In the case of abortion, it's no longer a victimless crime. How is it different than killing an adult while they're asleep?

And you do not know the difference?

The big problem for "progressives": Abortion is a gruesome affair...it is increasingly difficult to sanitize.

But depositing sperm is sanitary enough.
There's an inequity in biology that is easy to gloss over, if you're not the one who gets pregnant. Should the law compel a man to, say, donate a kidney to save a life? Or must choices like that be allowed, while the choice to gestate is denied?
Abortion is not ideal, but empathy and equity say denying choice to women is wrong.

When does a fertilized egg become a person with the same rights, et al, as an post-natal human. As an person with adult independent status? How would that work in a court of law?

Never got a good answer back when I asked about what happens to the soul of the unborn? If they are a true believer and all then one would be safe in thinking the soul would be reused into another body, or go straight to heaven bypassing all the suffering on earth.
If not a true believer at heart then I can see the argument that this was the one shot at a life being denied. so does this mean they are ones of little faith deep down?

Why did Ireland, one of the most Catholic of all countries legalize abortion in 2019? Because, it was unfair to the women. An unwanted pregnancy is an unwanted child and who is going to be financially responsible for this unwanted child? Legal or not, the rich can get an abortion, just go to Canada or Cuba. The poor sink deeper into poverty.
List of countries where abortion is legal. Are they all Marxist?
