A question for the more astute:

Should this be a concern, or should I go to the PITA effort of setting up security?

well being the liberal that i am i let anyone freeload off my wireless

that being said it is not very hard at all to set up a password protected wireless network and if a neighbor is smart and dishonest you are exposed

Beyond bandwidth, the freeloader has access to the guts of your computer if he's inside your network. The default setting for XP is to share files with folks on your network. Secure yourself, preferably with WPA instead of WEP.

Be careful what your bandwidth thief is using your internet for.
