The main reason why Florence and I are christians (without the capital C), the last place I would go looking for God is inside a House of Worship, sometimes referred to as Churches.

Another thing I was thinking is that if the Christian denominations were to distance themselves from the OT (I know, impossible since it's a founding text) and consign Revelations to "The Apocrypha", Christianity would be a lot more palatable for me.

That's pretty much my point. Regardless of the existence or non-existence of God or a god, religions are human constructs, subject to all the failings and imperfections which characterize us as a species and a society. How can we take it so seriously that we're prepared to do violence to other people who have a different, if equally flawed, understanding of God?

Here are some nice pictures of the good folks over at Westboro Baptist Church in action. I guess "Political Correctness" isn't high on their list in the "Good" collumn? Apparently God not only hates just about everything, he also hates the signs that proclaim his hatred of everything? I wonder if the kid on the left in the second picture knows his Dad was black?

I wonder how the guy with the "God hates signs" sign got in the picture. The look on his face makes me believe that he got one over on the phelpsites.

I used to say the only thing I can't tolerate is intolerance, but I've gotten older and crankier, so more things make my list.
