You will be drinking American beer won't you? Otherwise I'm telling on you.

Anyway one thing I've come to learn about AK is how absolutely civilized it is. It's the most decent site overall that I've been a member of.

And perhaps that precludes a number of folks from getting involved here. It can be intimidating, with all our magnificent brilliance shriveling up dissenting opinions

Seriously some folks just don't enjoy arguing like we do.

I'll take a draft Bud.

Yeah Pete. I've seen how your tender ego causes you to run and hide every time us lefties take you to task. But seriously folks, it does seem like the biggest civilizing factor here is that most everyone has a sense of humor. If you keep working on it, you'll have one too.

Of course. It'll be Boulevard, made by them good American folks up there in Kansas City, most likely union workers, and most likely delivered by that other great All American organization, the IBT. Tonite it's Heineken...I'm cheating.

You are drinking American made chocolate shakes, aren't you? I'd hate to have to give your name to some of my Dad's old business associates!!!

Heineken used to be imported by Miller, but I thought that at one point, they just started brewing it here too. I do like that Pale Ale though. I drive past the old Boulevard brewery nearly every day.

As much as I hate to admit it, my usual brand of shake is Mickey D's - but it is about as American as you can get. None of that Dutch Chocolate for me boy.

My Gentleman Jack comes from right here in these United States too.

Regards,

D-Ray

You're confused, my friend. That was Lowanbrau. Heineken still comes from the land of wooden shoes.

Exactly right. And Carling brewed Tuborg under license in the U.S. at about the same time (early/mid '70's.) Neither is brewed here anymore, however.

Well, I live in the state of confusion. Is that a red state or a blue state?

Yeah, I remember when the Carling brewery in Halethorpe became a Tuborg brewery. Long time ago.

Neither. "Dazed and Confused" is on Led Zeppelin's first album.

Without resorting to bad taste, I still remember that it was conventional wisdom among us cheap but sophisticated college kids that the domestically brewed Tuborg gave you wicked gas.
