Vonnegut probably would have written a novel where the primary holder of RAMJAC Corporation becomes President. In Jailbird RAMJAC is multinational megacorp that owns 19% of America. RAMJAC is probably the copyright holder to "Fate Worse Than Death."

Just finished The Brothers Karamazov. There was a nihilist movement in 19th Century Russia and Dostoevsky always deals with this theme. I think we are in a nihilistic period right now in the United States.

Books are great. I just reflected on an electrical engineering term that touches on this political topic.

The term is "relaxation oscillator".

It is reminiscent of when electronics were warm and smelled.

This should almost be in the "Latest Finds" thread. I found a leather bound collection of 6 Isaac Asimov books in one volume: Foundation, Foundation and Empire, The Second Foundation, The Stars, Like Dust, The Naked Sun and I, Robot. Just over five bucks. Today I will start The Second Foundation, having just finished Foundation and Empire. At five below zero, it is good reading weather.
