This should come as no shocker

The South Carolina Republican Party has merged with the tea party movement.

Um. Wow.

(edit) Oh! "To push the party in a more conservative direction". Well yippee ki-ay! Democrats may have a chance yet in the fall. We shall see.

This is bad.

No, I mean this is really bad?

Really bad.

This will pull the Republicans much farther to the right and those idiot Democrats will move into the center, abandoning liberals and liberalism to try attract disaffected Republicans. Then the left will be left without even the illusion of representation.

Or, maybe the Democrats will hold their ground leaving a vacuum in the middle. That will get filled by a third party, a centrist one like the FDP in Germany. That, in turn, will force the Democrats a little to the left and make them a truly liberal party.

This is good.

No, I mean this is really good.

Really good.

Jenny Sanford can run for governor.

The women is touring the country humping her book, How My Husband Cheated On Me.

It's all about the cash.

God bless these people.

LOL

I heard someone say on the tube this morning that one of the big problems we have today is that rural areas have to much representation and that this was a flaw in our constitution.

I mention this because this has long been (another) a pet peeve of mine.

It's good to hear someone finally say it out loud besides myself.

We really need to get rid of the Electoral College, and maybe two senators per state was not such a brilliant idea either.

I really don't see it that way. If it were any different all the city boys would vote the rural areas right out of their water rights ,mineral rights and whatever else they thought they might need.
New york and LA would essentially run the other 48 states. I'll pass thanks.
