Gosh JJ, don't you ever smile. If a face has ever shown pride in his family, that is the one. Congrats on the brood.

Yeah, one of my brothers lives in Kent. They got hammered severely. Almost three feet, is that right?

After seeing all of the fine looking folks here, I hesitate to post - but my family looks good.

From the left is my niece, great niece, wife, self, brother, younger son, older son. This was five years ago. It's nice to have friends who can get the Bob Uecker seats.

Regards,

D-Ray

Blue, lake effect is very light and fluffy, it settles over time. But 3 feet total sounds about right.

Me, I really don't care, both me and my car's outfitted for it, but I get sick of brushing off the car EVERY SINGLE TIME I use it - for about 8 days straight. It just stopped yesterday for the most part. With a normal storm it passes, with lake effect it'll snow nonstop until the direction of the wind changes.

Of course not! They're speaking American. Pete lives in Cleveland, which has a large Polish contingent; Cleveland is on one of the great lakes, and when a cold front comes over the lake, it brings lots and lots of snow; some people who do not drive well in the snow deserve some punishment, and Pete is willing to mete it out; the residents in that area got hammered with three feet of snow.

Regards,

D-Ray

Ah, thanks for clearing that up for me. I got the wrong idea about some of that stuff. Here, if you say "someone got hammered" it means that they got extremely drunk

That is probably its primary meaning here too. Getting hit by a severe storm is another use of the phrase.

Lol!

D's right, as often. And I tend to kinda make up words and phrases, I've got to remember there's darn furriniers about

Not just Polish, but Czech, Ukrainian, you name it, there's so many different orthodox churches in Cleveland it'll make your head spin. Lots of old ladies wearing those things even today.

From what I hear, Englands' got it's share of Poles nowadays.

'Pete's willing to mete it out' lol! Not really, just blowing off steam. But one of these days Alice, pow! Right to the moon!

(Brit translation: old tv show reference, 'The Honeymooners')

D, it looks like you have a very nice family.

Pete
