Candidate's tax plans

Not sure how accurate this calculator is. I wasn't surprised by the results.

Wow, I put in my older daughters income and family situation and she'll save big under Trump.

I then put in my income, before I got sick and I'd have saved mega bucks under Cruz.

Bernie costs everybody money and Clinton doesn't really change anything.

Good link, interesting, thanks

This is right wing bullshit!

It says I'd save more than the total amount that I am currently paying under Cruz or Trump.

So if Cruz or Trump get in, instead of me paying the government, the government will start paying me.

Whomever made this up is a lying piece of shit.

The government is already paying you.

True, but this says that with Cruz or Trump I will get even more free money from the government.

The bottom line here is that this calculator is bogus.

Here's a real analysis of Cruz's tax plan.

http://ctj.org/ctjreports/2016/03/te...p#.VvWn63pKYX4

And here's Trump's:

http://ctj.org/ctjreports/2016/03/do...p#.VvWoa3pKYX4

I'd actually pay a bit less under Trump's and quite a bit more under Cruz's.

But it wouldn't matter because either one of these plans would break the US Treasury.

The Sanders plan is summarized as follows:

"Big tax increases, mostly on the rich, to pay for big programs."

With an total annual income that is comfortably UNDER 6 figures and a family of 5 we're nowhere near "rich". However, the Sanders plan would cost me over $12,800 per year more than I'm paying now.

Hillary's plan would cost me $70 more per year, but its hard to judge the validity of the because the Clintons are quite often lying sacks of excrement. I remember back to "Clinton 1" when it only took Bill 3 months to kick his pledge of a middle class tax cut to the curb. He "never worked harder" for that one.

Barbara's point that the calculator may not be accurate can be echoed here. What can probably also be echoed here is the old saw that says when the candidates start talking about "taxing the rich", the middle class better hold on to their wallets.

Here are Bernie's proposed tax brackets.

As anyone with a room temperature IQ can readily see, there are zip, zero, nada, income tax increases until you reach a threshold of $250,000 a year.

So where are you getting this figure of $12,800 per year in additional taxes?

Don't just pull it out of your ass. As our teachers used to say back in school, show your work. You don't have to tell us what your income is. Just do it for a hypothetical family of five with an income of 100K.

Do it for yourself, mouse-that-bored. First, I'm not going to "show my work" because my family income is none of your f'ing business. I did give you a clue that you apparently missed earlier stating my income was less than six figures, so using a hypothetical income of 100k wouldn't reflect my calc.

But just pick a number like 80k, 85k or 90k with a spouse and 2+ kids and see what happens. Again, we don't know if the calc is accurate or not. But even if it's half right and I get soaked an extra $6400, no thanks. I'm not gonna be feeling the Bern if I gotta pay extra for it.

Yeah, that's what I thought. You got nuthin.

I already know that calculator is a sham because I plugged in my numbers and got completely bogus results.
