One question, if it says that everyone 'must' buy health insurance why do they say that this 'reform' will only cover 95% of the population (or thereabouts)?
Single Payer stop fiddling and farting about.

I haven't heard that figure. That's a lot of people falling through the cracks.

Only way to make it work.

Another thing about Social Security. Not being tied to it sure makes it easy to suck it dry of cash funding other unrelated "good works". Its easy spending other peoples money. It would be interesting to see how SS would be doing today if were also their investment. The ease in which we provide them the means to do so without harm to themselves, is the inherent problem with government in general.
Whew, I feel better now.

My hope is the critics are right and the public option drives all the insurance companiesout of business and it does become single payer. Of course, when you say that out loud it sounds kinda silly.

My guess is I'll get the same response as when I asked what the lovely Sarah stood for, which of course was none.
Any cons what to justify this?
Maybe the replies will "trickle? in?

Doesnt matter if anyone supports it or not. 95% of the population spends
every dime they make and it would not matter if they had 20 dollars or
20 million. Take all the wealth from the top 5% and give it the bottom 95%
and it would quickly end up back at the same place. Thats why we need to
create jobs to keep the cycle moving. We cant be angered or jealous at
the top 5%. Most are a thrifty lot and not the greedy thieves some of you
would like to believe.

No, it's just that the to Millionaires' Club, otherwise known as the US Congress, Social Security benefits are chump change. Far better to loot the trust fund and use it to curry favor with all the fat cats in the private sector. That pays much larger dividends.

Yeah, they're just a bunch of really nice guys who just want to do what's right for us little people.
"What I’m hearing which is sort of scary is they all want to stay in Texas. Everyone is so overwhelmed by the hospitality. And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this--this (chuckle) is working very well for them." -- Former First Lady Barbara Bush, commenting on the Katrina refugees living in Houston area shelters.

I was considering a career change, perhaps going to law school or running for public office.
But after following this thread, I'm gonna be an insurance broker. After I get a couple of good years under my belt, I figger I can buy all of the lawyers and politicians I want!!!
