Pope Francis On Abortion

You liked him when he challenged the tenets of capitalism. Do you still like him now?

http://www.lifesitenews.com/pope-fra...s-to-dat2.html

In his brief address, Pope Francis quoted the document Gaudium et Spes of the Second Vatican Council, that says, “Life once conceived, must be protected with the utmost care; abortion and infanticide are abominable crimes.”

So if you don't want them how about supporting contraception? As H.L. Mencken put it "Catholic women can use mathematics to prevent pregnancy but not physics or chenistry." Yet all those good catholic healthcare plans will pay for penis starch pills.

Despite his views regarding contraceptives he is still on the right track most of the time.

Pope Francis On Abortion

The majority of catholic women have used contraception so perhaps the church teachings don't have much impact in this issue.

Just seems like yesterday when the "Pill" became available. Really improved relationships. The younger generations take it for granted.
Would hate to be young again and they not be used because of some misplaced good intentions. Because unwanted pregnancies will continue to happen with ugly consequences.

I like him, though he's wrong on this issue. Why we would expect a celibate man to have a clue about sexuality and procreation?

My wife and I don't agree on everything, and we have been together 33 years.

In any event, this Pope seems compassionate on many levels, which is great. I didn't get a chance to vote for him or against him, but with his constituency, it seems that an anti-abortion stance is necessary.

Regards,

D-Ray

I still think if one was honest with themselves. If men could get pregnant having unprotected sex, carry a child in their belly. There would be little discussion, with even less questioning about BC's impact. It would be legal the next day.

No shit! I can get cranky and miserable with last nights dinner in my belly.

Are you a Catholic Mike? If so did it bother you when attacked capitalism? Further, how about the Holy See's views on contraception?
