An anonymous and allegedly muslim person complains about what the infidels are eating passes the sniff test with you? Really?

What's next? A war on Christmas and buffalo wings?

You haven't noticed the shockingly high number of grounded buffalo?

I believe the basics of the story, given the network affiliate sourcing. A restaurant has a sign, a changeable or temporary one, that mentions bacon. The purpose of the sign is to attract customers. They get negative feedback on it. That indicates that for one or more people, an element of the sign was having the opposite effect as desired. So sure, the content goes. The usual assumption would be if one person bothers to complain, some greater number are actually upset about the thing.

Calling it 'rolling over' is a bit silly though. The restaurant is not in business to uphold the sacred 'bacon' in the face of outsider cultural opinion. That's not their duty. So why should they consider there to be some reason to piss some people off here? That would be a complete departure from normal business practice. What's the percentage in that? The restaurant operates by pleasing customers, not by telling them what they are supposed to like.

'Rolling over' is an assigned meaning not present in the original situation.

This could for all we know a brilliant (IMO) marketing stunt by the Sneakers Cafe. It's Vermont, mostly independent, relatively affluent and people are probably going in droves to Sneakers and feast on bacon as a solidarity gesture. I know I would.

What am I not getting here.

Muslims do not eat or touch pork. But since when did the mere mention of it become offensive? Is pork not mentioned in the Koran? Does this woman also find the Koran offensive? Does she bitch to grocery store managers because they actually stock the stuff?

My BS meter is pegging too.

Great, now I want bacon. Preferably a pound or two.

Nah, let's go back to prohibition, but only for women.
