Saudi Arabia Beheads 26 People in 1 Month, Some for ‘Sorcery': US, FOX Has Nothing to

We condemn ISIS’ public beheadings, but in 2012-13, our allies in Saudi Arabia cut the heads off of 79 people.

Let’s play “Compare and Contrast” for a moment: Two oppressive, authoritarian Muslim regimes acting under the auspices of Sharia Law publicly behead scores of non-violent people, primarily to instill fear in those who might resist said regime’s self-asserted authority over the region.

People whose heads are cut off are disproportionately foreign nationals, or locals with religious or ideological differences. One of them is ISIS, the other is the government of Saudi Arabia. Which one are we bombing again?

There is a belief that ISIS may eventually target Saudi Arabia because the Kingdom has sold out to the world because of oil, etc.

ISIS may be indeed Wahabi extremists come home to roost.

I had the strange thought on my exercise bike that Saddam may have been a moderate Sunni who was an asshole but not as bad as ISIS. Did the US get rid of the moderate Sunni in the Levant because he did not seem moderate? Holy Shit!

Saudi Arabia is largely responsible for a lot of the mayhem in the Middle East. How about this recent event?

A British businessman living in Saudi Arabia was set upon and beaten up by members of the country’s religious police after using a women-only cash till with his wife at a local supermarket.

Peter Howarth-Lees, who is married to a Saudi woman, was knocked to the ground and kicked by three members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, known as the Mutawa, who followed the couple out of the shop.

I had friends who worked in Saudi Arabia back in the '70's and early '80's. If they were out on the street during public executions, stonings, hand-choppings, etc., they were rounded up and forced to watch.

I also have 2 close friends (both girls in their early '30's) working now as nurses in Jeddah. They live in a western compound, but still have bundles of crazy stories about life there. Just going out into town with their Western boyfriends is a potentially dangerous activity. Eating outside the compound means going to a restaurant as if they don't know each other, sitting in different tables. Some crazy, medieval shit going on there.

Moderate is certainly relative over there. Plus moderate one minute doesn't mean moderate the next.

As for bombing people for capital punishment, we could start with Texas.

Isn't 'not nice' code for 'regular guys' in manspeak?

'Praising with faint damns,' even.
