Kari Lake is in deep, deep trouble with judge's refusal to dismiss defamation lawsuit

We end the year 2023 much as we ended 2022, with yet another loss for Kari Lake.

But also, possibly, the first, long-overdue step on the road to accountability for the state’s biggest crybaby, a failed candidate who simply cannot accept the fact that she lost an election.

Last week, a judge ruled that Lake does not have a First Amendment right to call Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer a criminal.

She now has to prove her claims that he intentionally sabotaged the 2022 election. That is, if she wants to avoid being hit with a multimillion-dollar penalty for defamation.

She is the Giuliani Lite on the Trump clown car and does not have a lot of money to her name to ward off this defamation lawsuit, especially after Rudy's lo$$es in a different arena. Sad that yet another idiot got on the Trump wagon forsaking a good career and to what end? No money, no glory and all contempt. Doubt DJT will pick her as her running mate either, he does not like "losers".

After presidential candidate and former UN ambassador Nikki Haley failed to condemn slavery when answering a question about the cause of the Civil War, Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) decided to weigh in with a comment of his own.

"The Civil War started because the American people elected an anti-slavery Republican as president and Democrats revolted rather than accept minor restrictions on the expansion of slavery to the western territories," Cotton posted to X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday.

Cotton's tweet was met with almost universal scorn on the social media platform, with journalists and pundits pointing out the Arkansas Republican's false equivalency of antebellum-era politics with today's very different political environment.

"MAGA propagandists like Tom Cotton don't want you to understand that Southern racists used to be Democrats but are Republicans now. This partisan sea change happened through the 1960s, '70s and '80s," former Chicago Tribune editor Mark Jacob tweeted. "It's explained in those history books that Republicans don't want you to read."

In three years history has been rewritten by the Republicans for the Republicans. Trump did nothing wrong and the mob at the capitol was only there to exercise their First Amendment rights.

First Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Makes sense doesn't it if you are a Republican and why they tried so hard to claim and prove election fraud, except all they had were lies and willing liars like Rudy, Kari, Jenna and Fox. And Trump has been reciting the grievances for past three years non stop.

And to top it all, Stop the Steal was a cash cow with enormous and endless payoffs. In three years, rewriting history was extremely profitable except for the gullible fools parting with their hard earned money and the insurrectionists who got caught and prosecuted.
