"Twenty-Five Worst People In American History"

The blog Right Wing News surveyed 100 right wing bloggers on this subject by posing the question: "Out of all the gangsters, serial killers, mass murderers, incompetent & crooked politicians, spies, traitors, and ultra left-wing kooks in all of American history — have you ever wondered who the worst of the worst was?"

Slightly fewer than half the bloggers (43) responded but their answers are I think a fair representation of Wingnut "philosophy". Here's the list:

23) Saul Alinsky (7)
23) Bill Clinton (7)
23) Hillary Clinton (7)
19) Michael Moore (7)
19) George Soros (8)
19) Alger Hiss (8)
19) Al Sharpton (8)
13) Al Gore (9)
13) Noam Chomsky (9)
13) Richard Nixon (9)
13) Jane Fonda (9)
13) Harry Reid (9)
13) Nancy Pelosi (9)
11) John Wilkes Booth (10)
11) Margaret Sanger (10)
9) Aldrich Ames (11)
9) Timothy McVeigh (11)
7) Ted Kennedy (14)
7) Lyndon Johnson (14)
5) Benedict Arnold (17)
5) Woodrow Wilson (17)
4) The Rosenbergs (19)
3) Franklin Delano Roosevelt (21)
2) Barack Obama (23)
1) Jimmy Carter (25)

I guess that goes to show that there is no reasoning with these people. If it weren't for mindless hatred, what kind of hatred could they have?

And I bet, without exception, every one of them would put Reagan on the top of the best people in American history. I bet Dubya would probably even make the list.

Two things strike me about this. First, and I recognize there are those who would disagree (without offering evidence), this is the sort of thing it simply never occurs to Liberals, Progressives, The Left, whatever to do. Second, if liberal bloggers were asked to compile a list of the 25 greatest Americans many of the same names would make the list.

As you say, Finn, there is simply no hope for constructive dialog with these people.

Yep. The worst people in American history are the people who disagree with the type of mindless policies that put us in the pickle we're in today. Brilliant.

I guess Nixon made the list as a crooked politician. He reached his level of incompetence as a gang-leader.

It's hard to see Jimmy Carter as a left wing , even harder to see him grouped with mass murderers.

I also didn't know that Johnson was quite that hated by the right. Maybe they just looked for all of the democratic presidents of the last Century. Couldn't name JFK, because he cut taxes, or Truman because he dropped the big one.

Never can quite figure what goes in the mind of the haters.

Regards,

D-Ray

Remember the original "Manchurian Candidate"? The one with Frank Sinatra and Lawrence Harvey? Remember how all the guys who were POWs with Harvey's character all said the same very positive things about him? Exactly the same things? Word for word? They didn't know they weren't speaking from their own hearts and their own minds. Dittoheads and Beckbots are the same. They parrot their leaders without realizing it. They're literally brainwashed.
