By his own assessment, Trump is a master deal maker and deals typically only affect those that are directly involved, and the losers usually avoid any publicity lest they be known as bad deal makers. But when it comes to governance, the opposite is generally true and the opposition will make the most noise. Trump and his minions have not figured this out that they cannot drown out or shut down the opposition.

Governance is not simply making deals but forming a consensus. Reaching out to Democrats now is probably too late especially after the ridiculous accusation thrown by Trump at Obama while he is staring at a 35% approval rate which is a new low for that office.
