Missouri governor on kids getting coronavirus at school: They're going to get over it

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson's plan

With leaders like this it's no wonder Missouri has seen a significant spike in coronavirus cases this month.

QUOTE:
“These kids have got to get back to school, they're at the lowest risk possible,” Parson said Friday during an interview with “The Marc Cox Morning Show”, a St. Louis radio program. “And if they do get COVID-19, which they will — and they will when they go to school — they're not going to the hospitals...They are going to go home and they're gonna to get over it.”

Can you believe this crap? All to please Herr tRump.

Except for some thousands who will die, and even more thousands of adults who will catch it from the sick and the dying. But that's a sacrifice he's willing to make.

'We can't pull it off': Florida sheriff says he can't muster security for GOP convention
There's a lack of clear plans, adequate funding and enough law enforcement officers, he says.

https://www.politico.com/news/2020/0...ecurity-373089

Quote:
The sheriff of Jacksonville, Fla., said he can’t provide security for the Republican National Convention because of a lack of clear plans, adequate funding and enough law enforcement officers.

“As we're talking today, we are still not close to having some kind of plan that we can work with that makes me comfortable that we're going to keep that event and the community safe,” Duval County Sheriff Mike Williams told POLITICO.

The controversy deals one of the biggest potential blows to President* Donald Trump’s decision to hold an in-person nominating convention during a pandemic. The proposal has already been beset by concerns over safety and reports of high-profile Republicans declining to attend.

Williams, a Republican...

Ex-Gov. John Kasich (R) slated to speak at the Democratic National Convention for Joe Biden

https://www.cleveland.com/open/2020/...joe-biden.html

Quote:
COLUMBUS, Ohio—John Kasich, the Republican ex-governor of Ohio turned critic of President Donald Trump, is expected to speak at the Democratic National Convention next month in support of Joe Biden

Kasich is one of a number of high-profile Republicans who intend to work against Trump’s re-election in the closing days of the campaign, according to the AP. John Weaver, a senior strategist for Kasich’s 2016 presidential campaign, co-founded the Lincoln Project, a group that is already airing anti-Trump TV ads. In addition, ex-Ohio GOP Chair Matt Borges, a Kasich ally, has formed a pro-Biden super PAC.

You know The Lincoln Project is having a huge impact when National Review, which is the smoldering remains of what was once Republican intellectualism has to write a nasty response to their efforts. ROFL. NR is little more than a farce these days, having sold their souls to Trumpism.

They seem to be knocking the Lincoln Project for coming at tRump and other Repubs as the Democrats would and for targeting moderate Republicans. Well, any Repub that hasn't openly opposed tRump needs to go. As for siding with the Dems, the enemy of my enemy and all that.

As Orange Shitstain Ignores Virus Crisis, Republicans Start to Break Ranks

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/19/u...ronavirus.html

Quote:
...many Republican lawmakers have grown exasperated with the administration’s conflicting messages, the open warfare within Mr. Trump’s staff and the president’s demands that states reopen faster or risk punishment from the federal government.

Senator Ben Sasse, Republican of Nebraska, said he wanted the administration to offer more extensive public-health updates to the American people, and condemned the open animosity toward Dr. Fauci by some administration officials, including Peter Navarro, the trade adviser, who wrote an opinion column attacking Dr. Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert.

“I want more briefings but, more importantly, I want the whole White House to start acting like a team on a mission to tackle a real problem,” Mr. Sasse said. “Navarro’s Larry, Moe and Curly junior-high slap fight this week is yet another way to undermine public confidence that these guys grasp that tens of thousands of Americans have died and tens of millions are out of work.”

Senator Roy Blunt, Republican of Missouri, was more succinct: “The more they turn the briefings over to the professionals, the better.”
