Dumb question and wrong implication.

All members of the House of Representatives get to vote, so the speaker is voted by all the members present in the House and not appointed by one party as you imply. It so happened that no Democrat voted for McCarthy (by voting Nay) because that is customary to let each party choose their own leader in the House. On the Vacate vote, every Democrat in the House voted to remove McCarthy (told you they could vote). He is not their leader, they don't trust him so why not? If they voted No, that implies tacit support so the only choice they had was to vote Yay to Vacate.

As to why some of us are agitated, with no elected Speaker the House is in recess. Nothing can be done until a new Speaker is elected and we all know what that is going to entail after watching what happened in January.

A CR will expire in five weeks and what happens then as we will be running out of time? Or is this a back door way the Repugnants devised to shut down the government since the previous one got waylaid by McCarthy and he has now paid the price of get shitcanned.
