On MSNBC they were talking about how 10% of the North Carolina economy consists of spending by the Defense Department and VA. In other words the baggers are down with big Government spending as long as it is related to defense. They do not see it as a form of welfare.

Aren't the teacher unions big democrat supporters? Is geography still even taught? I found it more appalling that a lot of the media heads didn't think it was salient to point out the long term history of Crimea wrt Russia. Kerry's and the Obama's posturing wasn't all that great either.

I thought it was wing-nuts and the Jesus Weasels (as opposed to actual Christians) in Texas that determined textbooks for the rest of the country by default.

You are correct. Then we have the wingnuts in Kansas trying to block studies of evolution and insert the theory of the earth presto chango magically appearing intact 6,000 or so years ago, compliments of a kindly white guy.
