It knew it was going for slaughter. Another time I passed by a feedlot operation in southern Colorado. Must have been a half million head crowded on a 10 acre plot. A mist of piss and shit hung in the area for miles around. The stench was awful. We were going to stop for the night at a nearby town but the smell was so bad we moved on. No animal should live in such conditions.

Corporate farming. Should be outlawed.

That video was wonderful.......

We're supposed to be stewards of the earth, to protect and nurture it and the animals upon it. Instead capitalism has made man the rapists and destroyers of the earth.

Man - the only animal so stupid he would destroy his home for the short tem gain of a dollar bill.
A great post Potter.

Gives us all something to think about.

Btw, I'm eating a hamburger from Wally World as I type this.

There was an HBO movie about Ms. Grandin. VERY good. It may be on HBO On Demand.

I'm for humane treatment of animals, but we need to watch costs too.

With some people, it's always about money. I'd like to me treat you nice, but it costs me too much. What bullshit.

No, there is NO excuse for treating any of Gods creatures in an inhumane manner. Those that do are evil, plain and simple.

I was thinking about the poor. I might be able to afford free range chicken but they can't.

I didn't say intentionally treat them poorly btw. There's no excuse for cruelty.

Thank you for that clarification.

You got my hackles all up on that one. The missus calls me St Francis for good reason.

If you're suggesting the ethical treatment of livestock has anything to do with the already higher prices the financially disadvantaged pay for meat in their neighborhoods, you are either badly ill informed or you're selling another rightwing load of crap, Pete.
