Dads are inherently more protective of their daughter than their sons because
daughters are the ones who carry, are left with, the results of reproduction.

I have seen in my lifetime situations where a father never said 'I love you' to their daughters so they sought love elsewhere. There are predators out there and it has been my experience that young men do not always give young women the respect they deserve.

Having only sons and grandsons never faced this or will. But my brother a father of daughters if fond of saying, "with boys you worry about one p***s but with daughters you worry about all of them!

Never had any daughters but have two lovely granddaughters and all I will ever tell them is that an honourable young man would never ask them to give themselves carelessly. Marriage or forget about it.

I have a son and a daughter. My son got fed up with women taking advantage of him, my daughter got tired of guys trying to take advantage of her. They were not raised to be narcissistic predators as so many people are these days. So neither is married and neither intends on having any kids. We really wanted grandkids, an heir of some sort to pass down the family heirlooms.

But as the years go by, I'm OK with it. Humans are going to end up killing themselves off due to their inherent stupidity and lack of awareness. And it's going to get real ugly between now and then.

So I have dogs......
