First Trip to Vegas
It wasn't too surprising. Lots of Glitz and conspicuous consumption. A monument to capitalism. Not really my kind of town. But that is where the conference was, so I went and took my wife.
On the other hand, the Beatle's themed Cirque de Soliel show was incredible. The sound system was the best I have ever heard in a theater - perfectly clear and powerful. The theater was designed for the show. The stagecraft was impeccable. The number of configurations of the stage and the apparatus (apparati?) operated from the ceiling must have been a nightmare to coordinate, but it the operation was flawless. The performers are also quite talented.
Maybe I am being inconsistent being disturbed by the excess of the town, but being impressed by the spectacle of the show, but I'll blame it on Vegas. In any event, I'm glad to be home.
