Someone, somewhere, wanted the horror magnified and it wasn't rank-and-file Palestinians getting killed. The Zionist plan was always to raze Gaza just like the plan of the United States was always to invade Iraq. In both cases, there was a catalyst.

Netanyahu has explicitly defended the destruction in Gaza by citing US bombing of axis cities in WWII. 'You killed civilians.' But no, the indiscriminate targeting of civilians was wrong, even when we were fighting the very powerful militaries of fascist nations, not stateless urban guerrillas trapped in an ethnic enclave.
