You know on COPS you used to see the police run after people for blocks and never shoot them. All this 30 something cop had to do was chase this guy a few blocks and call for back-up instead of going nuclear with his pistol.

Then chase them with your gun drawn in case they pull an ak47 out of their arsehole, but chase them. Fucking lazy cops would rather Chase someone with bullets because they've chowed down too many sprinkled donuts and they wheeze when they climb out of their cop car. Because the hurdles required to become a POST certified, trained and full-fledged officer (including backgrounds, polygraphs and psych evals) weeds out most applicants.

Police departments all over this country do a fucking half-assed job of weeding out the assholes (white, black, latino, asian or otherwise, male and female) who got bored with kicking the dog, beating their partner bloody for burning the toast, or slapping the kids around.

History has shown us what kind of weeding out job police departments actually do.

Statistically, if you were right -- instead of me -- there'd be many hundreds of illicit violent encounters per year (at a minimum).
