I watched Papa Bear O'Reilly in full defense mode last night. He very selectively edited Stewart's piece to make it look like Stewart was unfairly picking on Fox (while they were busy doing God's work).

Sh*t like this is almost enough for me to look askance at the 1st Amendment and support the "Fairness Doctrine." OTOH, with enough ridicule piled upon these assh@les, their house of cards may fall as responsible sponsors bail (a la Glenn Beck).

Anyone soaking in information from Stewart or Beck and taking it as the truth
needs their head examined. I don't listen to either of those ass lickers. Then
you have people like Bono and Nugent spewing their twisted views of what
the world should be like. Not to mention all the hollywood actors thinking they
are better than the rest of us telling us how we should carry on all the while
padding their own pockets. Thanks but I will make my own decisions.

Jack,

I disagree with you about plenty, but I appreciate that you are author of
your own talking points.

I like Jon Stewart, but he is not the source of my news. I happen to
think that he is a pretty effective gadfly.

Regards,

D-Ray

Jon Stewart is a comic on the Comedy Channel who makes his living skewering people using their own words. I don't view his show for news, but FWIW his journalistic standards (and he's a comedian) far exceed the jackasses on Fox News, a supposed fair & balanced news channel.

It's a shame that virtually no one in the mainstream media (with the possible exception of Howard Kurtz of the WashPost) is willing to expose the lies, innuendo, and slurs slung on Fox News on a daily basis and we need to rely on a comedian to do so. At this task, he does a fine job IMHO.

+1. I happen to like Jon Stewart, I do find him funny. But, I have to agree with you on accepting anyones rhetoric as gospel.

and Noon upset and get asked to leave. You guys are being so nice this time.
I used to be the bad guy around here but seems several have moved through
here way worse than I was.

C'mon Jack, we've evolved.

I'm just waiting for you to say something that will let me cut loose with both barrels. Honestly, I came in here with a chip on shoulder, but I realized that you have your own perspective. IMHO, that perspective isn't particularly married to a political position, but an approach to issues that, although colored by your fealty to the corrupt doctrine of capitalism () is one that is honestly come by. BTW, I still have a chip on my shoulder. You can ask any of the guys I pick on.

Regards,

D-Ray

Not that I so much worship capitalism, I do not, I just believe people need a place
to work and build things and keep more money flowing in this country.
Some here think that is Andy Griffith show logic, I think it's common sense.
I believe someone who operates a business in this country and hires
American workers should be given special consideration and not taxed at a
high rate so our leaders can squander it or give it away to someone who is not
as deserving. I am usually on the fence but lean right because of how I was
raised. 40-50 years ago that would have meant left because democrats
were the conservatives ones. Both sides are crooked, you know that with
the republicans and know what you are going to get. With democrats they
promise change to get your vote but then get in line for their kickback as
soon as they take office. What do do? Don't worry I'll come up with something
to piss yall right off.
